Charlotte Weibull is a well-known folklore artist and doll maker in Sweden. She designed and made dolls for more than 60 years and they can be found, in their thousands, all over the world. The dolls have appeared in exhibitions in Sweden and around the world.
"Möllegården kultur" in Åkarp
Charlotte Weibull´s Folklore Centre is now located at Möllegården kultur in Åkarp. Möllegården kultur dates back to the 17th century and houses the Weibull Room, exhibition, shop and café.
Previously the Charlotte Weibull Folklore Centre museum, exhibitions, costume making and doll making were all located on the farm. Charlotte’s collection of old Scanian costumes and fabrics, as well as her dolls and nativity scenes, remain at Möllegården. They comprise, together with all the information about the Scanian costumes documented in the Weibull archives, an invaluable resource to the exhibition..
The Museum
The museum houses an exhibition of treasures from the antique collection of costumes, costume silver and tapestries.
At Christmas Charlotte Weibull's collection of nativity scenes (Christmas crèches/cribs) are on display, and at Easter, the collection of exquisitely decorated Easter eggs from around the world.
The Shop
In our shop you will find the famous handmade Charlotte Weibull dolls, popular trays, costume silver and other accessories for the Scanian costume, and much more.
Café Charlotte
Café Charlotte serves freshly brewed coffee with rhubarb cake and custard, or you can choose something equally delicious among the newly baked bread and cakes. If you prefer something more filling we have a tasty selection of delicious sandwiches, quiche, buffet lunches and salads. The ecological coffee is always freshly ground.
